Chris Taylor-Munro
Healey Music Toronto Chris (aka CTM) is forever defending the notion that drummers are indeed musicians
as he is a professional drummer/percussionist based in Toronto. Chris is also the new “face”
of Healey Music for our friends in the Greater Toronto Area. He returns to work with his colleagues
at Healey having once served as the “special teams” guy at the Healey Group during the late
1990's where he worked in the Audio Proofing Department, handled shipping and
receiving, managed sales for the in-house studio, Distortion and looked after the band
rehearsal complex, The Park.
Chris attended Toronto's Humber College to study Jazz and after being offered a USO Tour
during Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf (1991) has not looked back since. Playing
with Ottawa indie band Boywonder (later becoming Hydrofoil) as well as a slew of independent
artists was ample training for Chris to move back to Toronto after being recruited to play with
EMI recording artists, Moist in 2001. After touring with Moist Chris was offered to take the
throne supporting David Usher (former Moist front man) where he is still writing, recording and
touring with David to this day. Playing gigs throughout Canada, U.S.A, Southeast Asia and
Europe with appearances on MTV, MTV Asia, Much Music, Musique Plus, CMT, CTV, CBC
Television and Radio, and lots of other acronyms perhaps his face may not be so new after all.
Not being content communicating solely through his drums Chris is a freelance writer for
Canadian Musician, Professional Sound, Canadian Music Trade and The Toronto Star writing
about two of his favourite things, everything music and anything with a steering wheel.
Chris enjoys working in the Canadian music industry in all its facets and looks forward to working
with friends old and new on behalf of Healey Music.
